Your Impact * Conduct scheduled and ad hoc audits of onboard medical centres to ensure compliance with MSC policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. * Evaluate the quality and safety of clinical services delivered onboard, identifying opportunities for improvement and mitigating potential risks. * Review medical documentation, patient care records, medication management practices, and infection prevention and control processes to ensure compliance with established standards. * Assess medical team performance, clinical competence, and operational effectiveness, providing recommendations for corrective actions where necessary. * Verify compliance with vessel medical equipment inventories, pharmaceutical management processes, and clinical governance requirements. * Investigate identified deficiencies, non\-conformities, incidents, and trends, supporting the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans. * Produce detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risk assessments, areas of excellence, and opportunities for improvement. * Collaborate with shipboard medical teams, Lead Physicians, Clinical Governance personnel, and shoreside Medical Operations to implement audit recommendations and monitor progress. * Monitor key clinical quality indicators including patient safety events, medication errors, infection control measures, patient satisfaction metrics, and healthcare outcomes. * Support preparation for external inspections, accreditation reviews, regulatory audits, and other quality assurance activities. * Participate in the development, review, and revision of medical policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks based on audit findings and emerging best practices. * Escalate significant patient safety concerns, compliance issues, or clinical governance risks to the Director of Medical Operations and relevant stakeholders. * Support root cause analyses and investigations following adverse events and significant medical incidents. * Maintain accurate audit records, databases, and performance dashboards to support continuous quality improvement initiatives. * Work closely with Medical Operations, Clinical Governance, Health Information Management, Medical Facilities, and other departments to ensure alignment of quality and compliance objectives. * Represent MSCCM Medical Department in a professional and responsible manner at all times. * Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and all applicable privacy and confidentiality regulations. * Travel extensively throughout the fleet to perform audits, inspections, investigations, and quality assurance activities. * Participate in emergency response activities and provide operational support during significant medical events when requested by the Director of Medical Operations.
