🎯 The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling a market-leading platform used by organisations worldwide.

You'll work across backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and selected front-end functionality, helping deliver highly secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support healthcare innovation on a global scale.

This is a hands-on engineering role with significant influence and ownership, offering the opportunity to contribute to both product evolution and long-term technical strategy.

🛠️ What You'll Be Doing

🚀 Software Engineering

🔹 Designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs

🔹 Building, enhancing and maintaining cloud-native applications

🔹 Delivering features from concept through to deployment and optimisation

🔹 Developing secure, high-performance software solutions

🔹 Integrating third-party platforms and external services

🔹 Supporting both backend and front-end development initiatives where required

🏗️ Architecture &​ Technical Strategy

🔹 Contributing to platform architecture and technical roadmaps

🔹 Driving engineering best practices and coding standards

🔹 Improving application scalability, performance and reliability

🔹 Identifying opportunities to simplify systems and reduce technical complexity

🔹 Supporting key architectural and technology decisions

🤝 Collaboration &​ Leadership

🔹 Working closely with Product, QA, Engineering and DevOps teams

🔹 Participating in code reviews and technical discussions

🔹 Mentoring and supporting fellow engineers

🔹 Championing a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement

🔹 Producing clear technical documentation and API specifications

💻 What We're Looking For

Core Experience

✔ Strong experience developing production-grade APIs

✔ Commercial experience building applications using Python

✔ Strong expertise with FastAPI

✔ Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL

✔ Experience integrating external APIs and third-party services

✔ Strong understanding of automated testing practices

✔ Experience working with Docker and containerised deployments

✔ Proven success within Agile software engineering environments

✔ Experience delivering scalable, customer-facing software products

Technical Skills

Ideally You'll Have Experience With:

☁️ Microsoft Azure

⚙️ CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

🔒 Secure software development, authentication and authorisation

📊 Monitoring, observability and performance optimisation

🏗️ Distributed systems and modern application architecture

📘 OpenAPI and API-first development

🗄️ Database design, schema management and migrations

🐍 FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy and Alembic

⭐ Bonus Points If You Have

🎨 Commercial front-end development experience with React.js

OR⚡ Commercial backend development experience with C# / .NET

🏥 Experience within Healthcare, MedTech, HealthTech, Life Sciences or other regulated environments

📈 Experience working within fast-growing SaaS or product-led technology organisations
