Elekta is recruiting for the role of Senior Software Engineer – Control Systems. Join a team developing software for radiotherapy treatment systems used in cancer care. The role covers the full software development lifecycle, with work on design, testing, deployment and continuous improvement in an Agile team.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop and maintain software applications used within radiotherapy treatment systems.
• Deliver full stack development using C#, .NET, WPF and C++, across user interfaces, backend services and system integrations.
• Improve software quality through automated testing, code reviews and continuous integration practices.
• Support the migration of applications to containerised and microservices-based environments.
• Contribute to Agile planning, sprint activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support safety-critical software development activities and help meet quality and regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge, support colleagues and contribute to a positive engineering culture.

What they’re looking for

• Have a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Understand software engineering principles, object-oriented design and the software development lifecycle.
• Have experience with unit testing, automation and CI/CD practices.
• Work collaboratively within Agile development teams.
• Bring strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to delivering high-quality software.
• Communicate well and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
