Role Description This full-time, hybrid role is based in Preston, with some flexibility for work from home. The OHL Managers LV -33kV will oversee the planning, delivery, and management of overhead line (OHL) works on low-voltage to 33kV networks, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with relevant standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating field teams and subcontractors, managing work schedules and resource allocation, and monitoring project progress against time and budget targets. The role involves reviewing technical designs and work instructions, supporting risk assessments and method statements, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements. The OHL Manager will also liaise with clients and internal stakeholders, resolve operational issues, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement across OHL operations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing overhead line projects on LV–33kV networks, with strong understanding of utility sector standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Proven ability to coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and resources, with solid planning and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for working with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, and for producing clear reports and documentation.
• Familiarity with project management tools and basic IT skills (e.g., MS Office, scheduling or asset management systems).
• Relevant technical qualification in electrical engineering, power distribution, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the UK utility sector, particularly in distribution networks, is highly beneficial.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites as required.
