Job Description

We are supporting a highly technical engineering software company that is looking to appoint an Application Engineer to join its growing team in Fife.

The company develops advanced computational software used to solve complex engineering problems across blast, shock, structural dynamics and fluid-structure interactio n. Its customers include engineering consultancies, research organisations and government-related organisations in the UK and internationally

.

This is a varied role combinin g customer support, product validation, consulting, technical pre-sales and software application developme nt.

You will work closely with a senior technical team, becoming an expert user of advanced simulation software and helping customers solve challenging engineering problems. You will also contribute to validation studies, benchmark models, technical documentation, customer demonstrations and the ongoing development of new software capabilities.

The role would suit an engineer who enjoys:

  • Computational mechanics
  • Explicit finite element analysis
  • Structural dynamics
  • Blast, impact or high strain-rate engineering problems
  • Solving complex technical challenges
  • Working closely with customers and product teams

We are particularly interested in candidates with ar ound 1–3 years’ industrial or research exper ience using explicit finite element software such as:

  • OpenRadioss / RA
  • DIOSSLS-DYNA
  • Abaqus Explicit
  • IMPETUSA fea

Experience with HyperMesh, Python, ParaView, CFD, blast simulation or fluid-structure inter action would also be highly relevant.
