German or Nordic Vice President / Director – European Software Private Equity
Andesite Partners
Job Description
The Opportunity
A specialist European private equity firm is looking to appoint a Vice President or Director to join its London-based investment team.
The firm is focused on control-oriented mid-market investments in software and technology-enabled businesses across Europe, partnering with management teams to accelerate growth, professionalise operations and build category-leading companies.
Following a series of successful investments, the firm is continuing to build out its investment capability and is particularly interested in adding an investor with strong connectivity and transaction experience across either the Nordic region or DACH.
This represents an opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial investment platform at an important stage of its development and play a meaningful role across origination, execution, portfolio development and the continued growth of the firm.
The Role
Working directly with the senior investment team, the successful candidate will take significant responsibility across the full investment lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include:
- Origination and development of proprietary investment opportunities across the European software market.
- Building relationships with founders, management teams, advisers, intermediaries and other relevant participants across either the
Nordics or DACH.
- Leading the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including market assessment, commercial analysis, financial modelling and investment case development.
- Managing transaction execution across financial, commercial, operational and legal due diligence.
- Assessing business quality, competitive positioning, recurring revenue characteristics, unit economics and potential value creation opportunities.
- Preparing and presenting investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Working closely with portfolio company management teams on strategic initiatives, M&A, international expansion, operational improvement and exit preparation.
- Supporting add-on acquisition programmes across existing portfolio companies.
- Contributing to the continued development of the firm's European sourcing network and investment strategy.
- At Director level, taking increasing responsibility for deal leadership, origination and junior team development.
Candidate Profile
The firm is looking for an investor with a credible and demonstrable track record investing in mid-market software businesses.
Candidates are likely to have:
- Approximately 6–12+ years of relevant professional experience, depending on level.
- Current or previous experience within a recognised private equity / technology investment platform.
- A demonstrable track record executing European mid-market software or technology buyouts.
- Strong understanding of software business models including SaaS, recurring revenue, vertical software and technology-enabled services.
- Experience working on control or influential minority investments, ideally alongside management teams and founders.
- Evidence of having taken meaningful responsibility through the complete transaction lifecycle rather than operating solely in an execution-support capacity.
- Strong financial modelling, commercial judgement and investment underwriting capabilities.
- Experience assessing and executing buy-and-build strategies would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the credibility to interact directly with founders, CEOs, advisers and senior investment professionals.
Geographic Requirement
Candidates must bring strong professional and cultural connectivity to one of the following markets:
Nordics
- Native or fluent Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish; or
DACH
- Native or fluent German.
Candidates should combine the relevant language capability with a demonstrable understanding of the regional software, technology and private equity ecosystem.
The appointment can be made at either:
Vice President – for an experienced investor capable of independently driving significant elements of sourcing, underwriting and transaction execution; or
Director – for a more senior investor with a proven ability to originate opportunities, lead transactions and represent the firm externally.
Why Join
The opportunity offers:
- A genuine seat within a growing European software investment platform.
- Significant exposure to the firm's senior investment professionals and Investment Committee.
- A broad mandate spanning origination, execution and portfolio value creation.
- The opportunity to develop into a senior deal leader as the organisation continues to scale.
- Meaningful influence over the firm's investment activity within either the Nordics or DACH.
- A highly entrepreneurial environment with considerably more ownership than would typically be available within a larger institutional fund.
Location: London
Sector: Software / Technology
Strategy: European Mid-Market Buyout
Level: Vice President / Director
