Company Description Mata Mate is an East London-based beverage startup launching the UK's first social energy drink powered by yerba maté. Currently raising its seed round, the brand combines sustainable energy with cultural impact, supporting reforestation in Paraguay while building a vibrant community around connection, nightlife, and natural stimulation.

Job Description As the first marketing leader, you will build Mata Mate's brand engine from the ground up. You will define the brand voice, lead D2C growth through social and digital channels, and embed the product into London's creative and nightlife scenes. This is a high-ownership, founding-team role for a culture-first marketer.

What You Will Do

• Build and execute the full 360° marketing strategy, owning everything from high-level brand positioning to granular D2C growth funnels.
• Lead creative direction and content creation across Instagram, TikTok, and email to drive community engagement and digital sales.
• Represent the brand within London’s cultural, music, and nightlife networks to establish Mata Mate as a staple of social connection and ritual.

The ideal candidate

• Proven experience marketing consumer goods or culture-led brands with a deep understanding of social media, SEO, and paid performance.
• A creative storyteller who is equally comfortable with data-led optimization using GA4, Meta Ads, and CRM systems.
• A natural networker plugged into London’s creative scenes who thrives in early-stage environments and is ready to build processes from scratch.
