Job Description

About us

Vestacy is a standalone company (carved out from Reckitt) with a clear purpose: to transform houses into homes. We’re home to some of the world’s most trusted brands (Air Wick, Calgon, Cillit Bang, and Mortein) helping millions of people care for the spaces they live in every day.

Backed by Advent, a leading global private equity firm, we have the freedom to think big and move fast. With almost 3,000 colleagues across 20+ countries, we see every person as a Founder, empowered to make bold decisions and shape what’s next.

We care for our company the way you care for your own home: with energy, passion, and pride. Here, you’ll find space to grow, opportunities to lead, and the support to thrive. Together, we’re building something extraordinary.

Research & Development

In Research and Development, we're full of highly skilled talents - all working to create cleaner homes. We continually seek out new opportunities by using science, our entrepreneurial flare and our fearless innovation to develop and enhance our existing portfolio, never compromising on quality or performance.

We do the right thing, always, by ensuring we act with responsibility and integrity, by complying with regulatory legislation across the globe, whilst ensuring our products are safe for our consumers and are to the highest quality.

The size of our organisation means you'll have the opportunity to learn and work with different functions within R&D, giving you exposure to different disciplines, teams and environments.

About the role

As part of Vestacy’s R&D organisation you work closely with all R&D brands around the globe to lead the development and deployment of advanced simulation capabilities, enabling faster, smarter and better product development.

You will act as the key point of contact for simulation analysis to:

  • Reduce physical testing cycles
  • Improve first-time-right design
  • Unlock outperformance & competitive performance advantages

This is a role which requires having in-depth technical knowledge, project leadership, partnership and communication skills.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and lead the simulation roadmap for Vestacy R&D, establishing best practices, standards and workflows across FEA, CFD, packaging performance, AI-enabled design and other relevant simulation applications.
  • Partner with external experts and software providers to build and strengthen Vestacy's internal simulation capabilities.
  • Lead and execute simulation studies across structural analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), packaging performance, blow moulding processes and emerging AI-enabled design technologies.
  • Translate simulation results into clear engineering insights and actionable design recommendations that maintain consumer relevance.
  • Validate simulation models against experimental data to ensure accuracy, reliability and credibility.
  • Integrate simulation into the early stages of product development to reduce prototyping cycles, identify failure modes proactively and optimise designs before tooling investment.
  • Drive product performance superiority, cost efficiencies and sustainability improvements through simulation-led design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Engineering, Packaging and Supply Chain teams to support innovation and product development objectives.
  • Act as the key bridge between theoretical simulation modelling and practical real-world implementation across the business.

The experience we're looking for

Essential

  • Founder’s mindset with a hands-on, proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including static, fatigue and impact simulations.
  • Proven experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), including thermal analysis, airflow and fluid dynamics modelling.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, Siemens or Abaqus.
  • Strong understanding of SolidWorks CAD, material behaviour, structural mechanics and fluid dynamics principles.

Preferred

  • Experience working with electrical devices, fragrance systems or small appliances.
  • Knowledge of packaging transport testing and manufacturing processes, including design for blow moulding and injection moulding.
  • Familiarity with design optimisation techniques and parametric modelling.
  • Experience within consumer goods, packaging, product design or related industries.

What we offer

We believe great work deserves great rewards. That’s why we offer numerous local benefits and global benefits designed to help you grow and thrive, such as career mobility opportunities, a referral program, access to our online learning academy, mental wellbeing support, and short-term bonus incentives.

Equality

We believe the best teams are built like great homes: on strong foundations and room to grow. That’s why we hire for potential as well as experience. If you resonate with our purpose, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t tick every box.
