Job Description

Lead transformation at scale in one of the UK’s largest NHS Trusts. King’s is entering a defining period. Our new Trust Strategy 2026–2031, Transforming Care, sets out an ambitious programme of change to improve outcomes for our patients, staff and communities.

We are looking for a Senior Transformation Delivery Lead to take ownership of some of our most significant strategic initiatives — driving them from concept through to measurable, sustained impact.

This is a senior delivery role for someone who thrives on complexity, can build credibility with clinical and corporate leaders alike, and knows how to turn strategic ambition into real clinical and operational reality.

About The Role You will lead the end-to-end delivery of major transformation programmes aligned to Transforming Care, working across divisions, corporate functions and system partners. You’ll be a trusted advisor to Executive and Divisional leadership, translating strategic priorities into deliverable programmes of work, and holding the discipline of benefits realisation, risk management and governance throughout.

You Will

  • Lead the design, mobilisation and delivery of complex, trust-wide transformation programmes aligned to the five-year strategy
  • Build and lead multi-disciplinary delivery teams, including clinicians, operational managers, business intelligence, digital, information technology, finance, workforce and improvement specialists
  • Develop robust programme plans, benefits cases and governance frameworks, ensuring delivery is evidence-based and outcomes-focused
  • Act as a senior point of accountability for programme risk, escalating and resolving issues that threaten delivery
  • Build strong relationships with clinical leaders, senior operational managers, and system / ICS partners including SE London partners, One Bromley, SEL Acute Provider Collaborative and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams to secure buy-in and remove barriers to change
  • Coach and develop transformation, digital transformation and improvement capability across the organisation
  • Report programme progress to Trust Board-level governance groups, with clear, honest narratives on progress, risk and impact
  • Champion the Kings culture of continuous improvement via the Kings Improvement Method, staff engagement and co-design with patients and communities

The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. Transforming Healthcare is the vision at the heart of the King’s Strategy – 2026 to 2031. Together, we are pursuing six strategic ambitions: delivering high-quality patient care; being a great place to work; leading pioneering research, innovation and education; building strong and successful partnerships; providing timely and efficient care; and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. Achieving these ambitions will require all of us to work as one Team King’s, united by a shared commitment to our values of being caring, collaborative, inclusive and innovative. By living these values every day, we will transform healthcare for our patients, our communities and each other

We are at a pivotal point in our history and we require individuals who are ready to join a highly professional team and make a real, lasting difference to our patients and our people.

King’s is committed to delivering Sustainable Healthcare for All via our Green Plan. In line with national Greener NHS ambitions, we have set net zero carbon targets of 2040 for our NHS Carbon Footprint and 2045 for our NHS Carbon Footprint Plus. Everyone’s contribution is required in order to meet the goals set out in our Green Plan and we encourage all staff to work responsibly, minimising their contributions to the Trust’s carbon emissions, waste and pollution wherever possible.
