Machine Learning Engineer / Applied and Research / London
A highly ambitious stealth AI startup is looking for an exceptional Engineer to join its lean founding team and build the intelligence layer behind a new generation of AI systems.
This is a rare opportunity to get in genuinely early , working directly with a deeply technical founding team across machine learning, NLP, knowledge representation, graph systems and information retrieval, taking ideas from research → prototype → production .
What you'll do
- Build ML-driven systems for understanding complex information
- Design knowledge representations, ontologies and
graph-based systems
- Develop advanced retrieval and search across dense, sparse and structured data
- Build NLP and information extraction pipelines
- Explore how knowledge can be
connected, validated and reasoned over
- Turn research into production-ready technology
- Shape architecture and
technical direction from day one
What they're looking for
- Experience across ML, NLP, Information Retrieval or Knowledge Representation
- Experience with
knowledge graphs, graph databases or Neo4j highly desirable
- Strong ML fundamentals and software engineering ability
- Experience taking research or experimentation into working systems
- Excellent academics or clear evidence of exceptional technical ability
- Curiosity around
LLMs, reasoning systems and semantic search
