𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Sports Medicine Physician Advisor

Healthcare Shares is seeking experienced sports medicine physicians to serve as Sports Medicine Physician Advisors. This role is ideal for physicians with firsthand experience in musculoskeletal care, injury prevention, athletic performance, rehabilitation, orthopedics, primary care sports medicine, concussion management, regenerative medicine, digital health, medical devices, healthcare AI, or healthcare innovation.

As a Sports Medicine Physician Advisor, you will provide clinical, operational, and strategic insight to help Healthcare Shares evaluate, support, and grow healthcare startups within our venture capital fund, venture studio, and broader healthcare entrepreneurship ecosystem. This is a flexible, remote advisory opportunity for sports medicine physicians who are passionate about improving musculoskeletal care, injury recovery, patient outcomes, access, affordability, and innovation through entrepreneurship.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Provide clinical and strategic guidance on healthcare startups focused on sports medicine, musculoskeletal care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance health, orthopedics, concussion care, digital health, healthcare AI, medical devices, and related areas.

• Support Healthcare Shares in evaluating healthcare startups, founders, business models, clinical relevance, workflow fit, scalability, patient impact, and social impact potential.

• Advise portfolio companies, venture studio projects, and healthcare entrepreneurs on sports medicine workflows, physician adoption, patient care pathways, rehabilitation models, clinical validation, commercialization strategy, and go-to-market considerations when appropriate.

• Offer relevant introductions, industry insight, and subject matter expertise across sports medicine, orthopedics, physical therapy, rehabilitation, health systems, performance health, healthcare technology, and startup ecosystems.

• Participate in periodic advisory discussions and contribute practical recommendations based on your clinical experience and area of expertise.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• MD or DO with experience practicing sports medicine.

• Board certification or fellowship training in sports medicine preferred.

• Experience in musculoskeletal care, primary care sports medicine, orthopedics, rehabilitation, physical therapy collaboration, concussion management, regenerative medicine, digital health, medical devices, healthcare AI, startups, investing, advisory work, or healthcare innovation preferred.

• Strong understanding of sports medicine workflows, patient care pathways, physician adoption, injury recovery, athlete and active patient needs, and real-world barriers to healthcare technology adoption.

• Ability to commit approximately 2–4 hours per month to advisory board participation and strategic advisory activities.

This Sports Medicine Physician Advisor role offers the opportunity to receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares venture capital fund. Advisors may also have opportunities to support Healthcare Shares venture studio companies and startup clients, including potential sweat equity opportunities when applicable.
