Job Description

Cityworx is recruiting on behalf of a growing organisation within the health and social care compliance sector for an experienced Health &​ Social Care Solicitor .

This is a newly created position and represents an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong background in CQC regulatory work to become the organisation's first in-house legal appointment and play a key role in developing its legal function.

The successful candidate will provide specialist legal advice to health and social care providers, with a particular focus on CQC regulatory matters, enforcement and representation .

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a broad range of CQC regulatory casework, advising clients and helping develop the organisation's legal offering.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing CQC casework, including Warning Notices, Notices of Proposal/Decision to Cancel or Vary Registration and Special Measures representations.

• Advising clients on CQC inspection outcomes and factual accuracy challenges.

• Supporting clients through CQC cancellation proceedings and enforcement action.

• Preparing legal representations, regulatory documents and submissions.

• Advising on the Health and Social Care Act 2008 , associated regulations and the CQC Single Assessment Framework.

• Advising providers on CQC registration applications and Registered Manager requirements.

• Supporting appeals to the First-tier Tribunal (Care Standards) .

• Keeping up to date with changes in health and social care regulation.

• Sharing regulatory knowledge and insight across the wider organisation.

• Contributing to the development of the legal function and supporting the organisation's progression towards SRA registration .

About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor with genuine specialist experience within health and social care regulation .

You will ideally have:

• Qualification as a solicitor in England &​ Wales .

• A current or immediately renewable practising certificate.

Minimum 4 years' PQE within health and social care regulation.

• Strong, demonstrable experience managing CQC regulatory matters from start to finish .

• Experience dealing with Notices of Proposal/Decision and regulatory enforcement.

• Experience with First-tier Tribunal (Care Standards) proceedings .

• Strong knowledge of the CQC regulatory framework and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 .

• Experience advising health or social care providers, whether in private practice, in-house or consultancy.

• Excellent legal drafting and written advocacy skills.

• The ability to explain complex regulatory and legal matters clearly to non-legal professionals.

• A commercially minded and client-focused approach.

Package

Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum + benefits

Home based , with travel required when necessary for client meetings, regulatory matters and other business requirements.
