Job Description
R&D Partners is seeking a dedicated Project Manager for Near Patient Care Implementations on a 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract. This is a field-based position across the UK and Northern Ireland.
About the Role As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the planning, governance and successful delivery of complex implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget.
Working closely with Healthcare Service stakeholders, commercial teams, implementation specialists, training teams, Information Solutions and technical experts, you will coordinate multiple workstreams to deliver successful implementations across acute and community healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale healthcare technology implementation programmes, ensuring successful adoption of diagnostic and point-of-care solutions.
- Manage complex transformation and deployment projects across multiple healthcare organisations, delivering agreed objectives within scope, budget and timelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including delivery plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, risk logs and governance frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams covering system deployment, user training, digital integration, operational readiness, logistics and support services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across clinical, operational, technical and procurement functions to support successful programme delivery.
- Facilitate project boards, governance forums and stakeholder meetings, providing clear communication, progress updates and decision-making support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on programme performance, ensuring delivery against milestones, service objectives, quality standards and financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies, embedding best practice across implementation and change programmes.
- Support organisational change and user adoption activities to ensure a smooth transition to new systems, processes and ways of working.
- Collaborate with internal and external delivery partners to manage dependencies, mitigate risks and achieve successful project outcomes.
Essential Skills and Experience Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing large-scale healthcare implementation projects across multiple sites.
- Experience delivering implementations involving connected glucose and/or ketone meter solutions or other connected Point of Care diagnostic technologies.
- A good understanding of Point of Care Testing (POCT) environments and the operational challenges associated with large-scale clinical implementations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working with senior Healthcare Service clinical, operational and technical teams.
- Experience managing project budgets, governance, reporting, risks and change control.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience delivering Point of Care implementations within Healthcare Service acute or community settings.
- Knowledge of connected healthcare solutions, middleware and digital integration within healthcare environments.
- Understanding of Healthcare Service procurement and implementation processes in the UK & Northern Ireland.
