As an Analytical Editorial Operations Manager , you will be responsible for...
- Leading a team of UK-based editors to create, maintain, and deliver exceptional analytical content for Legal and Tax Markets portfolios, as well as for Halsbury’s Laws of England and the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia of the Laws of Scotland.
- Leading adoption of AI as a core component of editorial workflows, guiding the team to leverage LLMs and AI-enabled tools to drive efficiency, scale, and content innovation; document and iterate prompts, and applying strong editorial judgment to validate, refine, and continuously improve outputs for publication and stakeholder use.
- Setting and elevating expectations for team performance and operational success; owning, driving and articulating performance KPIs, manage metrics dashboards and production schedules; setting and tracking productivity goals; and taking decisive action to ensure content meets quality, timeliness, and completeness targets.
- Supporting the development of an integrated global team, influencing stakeholders across regions to maximise operational value through shared best practices, tools, and the continuous improvement of digital and print workflows.
- Developing a cross-trained team across UK analytical editorial operations functions, enabling flexibility to respond to changing priorities and workload demands within and across business units.
- Conducting regular coaching sessions, mid-year reviews, and annual evaluations, building a high-performing, accountable team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
- Collaborating closely with commercial (in-market) stakeholders and Global Operations and Global Tech teams, ensuring editorial operations are aligned to global priorities, customer needs, and product performance.
What you already have...
- Bachelor's degree in law preferred.
- Candidate must reside in the United Kingdom.
- 6+ years of people management experience required.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI in workflows (content/knowledge domain preferred), translating use cases into scalable operating models with a focus on measuring impact on quality, throughput, and risk.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience using project management software such as Monday.com or Asana; XML a plus.
- Publishing or content experience preferred.
- Change management experience preferred.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to synthesise relevant information for Global Editorial Operations and commercial leaders and your team.
- Collaborative management style with ability to lead cross-functional, team-based, deadline-intensive strategic initiatives and delivery.
- Business/commercial acumen; data analysis.
- Excellent organization/project planning and time management.
- Strong process-orientation (developing consistent processes, documenting best practices, etc.).
- Experience leading teams through organizational transformation, operating effectively in environments where priorities, processes, and ways of working continue to evolve.
