Investment Director
Lulworth Investment Partners
Job Description
Role Title: Investment Director
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Hybrid
Lulworth Investment Partners is looking for an experienced Investment Director who wants to help shape a new, well-capitalised wealth management firm.
This opportunity is likely to suit someone with a proven private client track record, strong investment judgement and the ambition to help shape a firm’s culture, investment thinking and long-term growth.
About Lulworth
Lulworth Investment Partners is a new wealth manager founded by experienced investment professionals, including the co-founder of Ruffer LLP. We work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth private clients, families, trusts and charities who value thoughtful investment management and personal service.
We have built Lulworth as a home for entrepreneurial investment professionals who want their judgement to matter. Our aim is to preserve and grow client wealth in real terms over the long term, with a clear focus on client outcomes rather than short-term benchmark comparisons.
As a new firm, we are not constrained by legacy systems, outdated processes or layers of internal bureaucracy. We combine a modern operating platform, institutional-quality portfolio thinking and a clear commitment to client service.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Investment Director/Manager to join Lulworth at a formative stage in the firm’s development. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a modern discretionary investment management business alongside an experienced leadership team.
The successful candidate will manage discretionary portfolios, develop long-term client relationships and contribute to the firm’s investment process, growth and culture. As the business develops, there will be meaningful scope to take on broader responsibility and share in the long-term success of the firm.
What you will do
- Manage discretionary portfolios for private clients, families, trusts and charities.
- Build and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships.
- Contribute to portfolio construction, asset allocation and investment debate.
- Participate actively in the Investment Committee and help develop our investment process.
- Support thoughtful business growth through existing client relationships, referrals and professional networks.
- Work with the leadership team to help shape Lulworth’s culture, client proposition and operating model.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who wants more than a standard progression move. The right person will be motivated by the chance to help build something meaningful, while continuing to deliver excellent outcomes for clients.
You are likely to have:
- At least 8 years’ experience managing private client portfolios.
- A strong understanding of multi-asset investing, portfolio construction and risk management.
- Experience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients, families, trusts or charities.
- A proven ability to retain and grow client relationships over time.
- Strong commercial judgement and a client-led approach to business development.
- Professional qualifications at Level 6 or above, such as the CISI Diploma, Chartered Wealth Manager qualification or CFA.
This may be right for you if
- You want your investment judgement to be heard and tested.
- You enjoy client work and take pride in building relationships based on trust, clarity and long-term service.
- You are comfortable in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment where people take ownership.
- You want to help shape a firm’s direction rather than work within a structure that is already fixed.
- You are motivated by long-term client outcomes, not short-term asset gathering.
- You have a proven track record of building your own client book alongside managing client portfolios.
Why join Lulworth?
- Real influence : Join at an early stage and help shape the firm’s strategy, culture and investment proposition.
- Client-first focus
: Work in an environment designed around thoughtful investment management and exceptional service.
- Modern platform : Spend more time on clients and investing, with fewer legacy constraints and less internal bureaucracy.
- Investment involvement
: Contribute directly to portfolio thinking, Investment Committee discussion and the evolution of our approach.
- Long-term participation : Benefit from a competitive remuneration package, discretionary bonus and the opportunity for meaningful equity participation as the business grows.
