Senior Investment Analyst | Portfolio Manager Track

An established global investment manager is looking to appoint a Senior Investment Analyst to join a highly regarded global equities team.

This is an opportunity to join a business with a long-term investment philosophy, a collaborative culture, and a genuine pathway towards Portfolio Management. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Portfolio Managers and researchers, contributing directly to investment decisions while helping to evolve an established investment process.

This is not a traditional quantitative research role.

Instead, we're looking for an investor with strong fundamental equity experience who also understands how quantitative techniques can improve investment outcomes. You should be comfortable analysing businesses, forming investment views, and using systematic tools to strengthen portfolio construction and risk management.

The team combines fundamental stock selection with modern quantitative techniques, using data to improve consistency, identify opportunities and manage portfolio risk.

Responsibilities

• Generate fundamental investment ideas across global equities.
• Conduct detailed company and industry research.
• Apply quantitative techniques to enhance stock selection and portfolio construction.
• Use risk models and analytical tools to understand portfolio exposures and investment outcomes.
• Work closely with Portfolio Managers to develop new investment signals and improve the research process.
• Present investment ideas and contribute confidently to investment discussions.
• Play an active role in the continued evolution of the team's investment framework.

About You

You'll likely have:

• A strong background in fundamental global equity investing.
• Experience generating investment ideas and analysing companies.
• An understanding of portfolio construction and investment risk.
• Practical experience using quantitative investment techniques, including tools such as:
• Risk models
• Multi-factor models
• Portfolio optimisation tools
• Equity screening platforms
• An investor's mindset, balancing conviction with intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge ideas constructively.
• CFA qualification (or progress towards it) would be advantageous.

This role would particularly suit someone currently operating as a Senior Analyst who is ready to move onto a Portfolio Manager trajectory.
